Anatolie fabric from Casamance – Fluffy luxury inspired by mohair wool
Casamance's Anatolie fabric is a masterpiece of textile design that combines comfort and elegance. Inspired by the original homeland of the Angora goat, this fabric symbolizes softness, warmth and refinement. Anatolie is a high-quality imitation of mohair wool, with a rich texture and subtle sheen that adds a touch of style to any interior.
Woven velvet with visual and tactile depth
Anatolie is made as a woven velvet, which is carefully lightly combed and printed to mimic the natural appearance of wool. This technique creates a fluffy, warm look with subtle shading – ideal for a cosy and elegant atmosphere in the home.
The fabric is then applied to a fleece base layer, which not only provides extra softness but also ensures a firm and durable structure. This not only makes the fabric feel luxurious, but also makes it suitable for intensive use on, for example, sofas, armchairs or cushions.
A tribute to Anatolia – the birthplace of mohair
The name Anatolie refers to the historical region of Anatolië (in present-day Turkey), where the first angora goats originated. Mohair from this region was known for its exceptional softness and natural shine. Casamance translates this rich tradition into a modern and easy-care variant that is ideal for upholstery, curtains or decorative accents.

Maintenance of curtain and furniture fabrics
Curtain fabric maintenance
To keep your curtains looking beautiful for a long time, regular and careful maintenance is important.
Avoid direct sunlight as much as possible, as this can cause discoloration over time. TIP! Make sure your curtains are lined; this protects the main fabric.
For light soiling, you can freshen up the fabric with a slightly damp cloth. Do not use cleaning agents or excessive water. Always treat stains carefully and test any cleaner on an inconspicuous area of the fabric first.
Recommended maintenance products:
For curtain fabrics we recommend James products:
- James Interior Cleaner – suitable for both natural and synthetic fabrics. Ideal for freshening curtains without damaging the fiber structure.
- James Stain Wonder – helps remove stains, for example from contact or air pollution.
Apply the product to a white terrycloth towel, not directly onto the fabric, and dab gently. Let the fabric dry naturally, preferably out of direct sunlight.
Maintenance of furniture fabric
Furniture fabrics such as chair, sofa and cushion covers require regular care for a long life and a fresh appearance.
Vacuum the surface weekly with a soft brush attachment to remove dirt, hair, and dust. Rotate cushions regularly to prevent uneven wear and tear, and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
In case of stains, it's important to act quickly: blot immediately with a clean, slightly damp cloth (do not rub). For safe and effective cleaning, use James products, specially developed for upholstery fabrics:
- James Interior Cleaner – freshens furniture upholstery and removes light soiling without damaging the fibers.
- James Stain Wonder – ideal for removing stains caused by drinks, food remains or pets.
For a thorough cleaning or to remove stubborn stains, it's wise to have the fabric professionally cleaned. This will keep the fabric beautiful, supple, and fresh-colored.
