Botanical Braid Wallcovering wallpaper by CMO Paris: plant fibres in weave and braiding

The Botanical Braid Wallcovering wallpaper brings woven and braided plant fibres to your wall. In this collection, CMO Paris works with abaca, bamboo, jute, raffia, palm leaf and pandan, and leaves those fibres visible. On the wall you see lines, thicker sections and small irregularities in the material. The colours stay close to the fibre itself: cream, sand, honey, ochre and a deep blackish-brown with gold-olive threads. The inspiration comes from Japanese wall art and screens. The difference between the patterns lies in the composition: one wall is plain, another is laid out in stripes or blocks.

Patterns in the Botanical Braid Wallcovering wallpaper collection

Abaca Précieux wallpaper has a fine horizontal fibre with irregular slubs and no further pattern. In the images you see it in light cream-beige on cabinet doors and in blackish-brown with gold-olive fibres in a niche behind a wall-mounted wooden desk. Bambou Rayé wallpaper is made from hand-woven bamboo and shows sand-coloured fibres in narrow strips with visible seams, in a variant with clearer horizontal bands. Damier wallpaper braids jute and raffia into a checkerboard of small squares in which the fibre direction alternates per square, in honey and ochre beige. Buri wallpaper is hand-woven from palm leaf fibre. Buri Tressé wallpaper is braided from pandan fibre. Kakémono wallpaper combines pandan and abaca and refers to Japanese wall art, while Shoji wallpaper uses the same two fibres, taking shoji screens as its model.

CMO Paris wallpaper in bedroom and study corner

The images show how the Botanical Braid Wallcovering by CMO Paris behaves in a space. In the bedroom the block-patterned braiding ties in with ochre-coloured linen and cream bedding, with a wooden batten dividing the wall into sections. The plain weave shows that you can combine two colourways: light on the cabinet doors, dark in the niche. Warm wood, ceramics and flowers naturally complement this.
