The Damier wallpaper from the CMO Paris 's exclusive Botanical Braid Wallcovering collection is a refined tribute to the art of weaving. With its characteristic diamond pattern and distinctly tactile texture, this design elegantly brings Japanese-inspired craftsmanship to life. The Damier wallpaper is made of 88% jute and 12% raffia. Jute is known for its strong, matte, and slightly rough appearance, while raffia adds a subtle variation in fiber structure. Together, these materials create a rich, natural surface with depth and nuance.
The characteristic diamond or checkerboard pattern is created through a refined marquetry of two materials. The variation in grain direction and texture enhances the graphic character and creates a subtle interplay of light and shadow on the wall.
