Elitis Brera fabric in ochre, rust and cream

Brera fabric from Elitis keeps to a warm palette of ochre, rust and cream, and nearly every design adds raised detail you notice from across the room. Embroidery sits on top of the ground, cut pile forms ribbed stripes, and corded lines run like chains across a curtain. The photos show the fabrics as floor-length drapes and upholstery next to herringbone parquet, a rust lacquered desk and chairs with slim metal frames. The colors stay close together. What changes from design to design is shape and scale, from loose organic contours to a strict lattice.

Designs in the Brera fabric collection, from agate swirls to hexagons

Montbello fabric carries large embroidered shapes that look like a sliced agate or contour lines on a map, in rings of orange, rust, cream and black-brown on a camel ground. They float loosely across the curtain with no grid. Orso fabric is smaller and more rhythmic, with dark brown stripes that wave vertically over a rust velvet look, broken up by ribbed bands and tiny cream diamonds. Verdi fabric goes big and geometric, with a hexagon lattice in charcoal cord, rust diamonds and ochre crossing bands on cream, picked out with glints of metallic thread. Orsini fabric builds on triangular planes and graphic lines in terracotta, soft blue and beige. The quieter designs are Bellini fabric, a patchwork of rectangles in ivory, beige and cream, and Bari fabric, where vertical lines meet and split again in beige and cream with fine brown accents. Donatello fabric adds wavy motifs in soft relief on a chenille-like ground in sand tones.

Pairing Brera by Elitis with wood and metal

Since the colors overlap, the designs work side by side. In the photos an armchair in Orso sits in front of a black-and-gold chevron curtain, and a mustard velvet chair stands against the large Verdi lattice. Hang a large pattern at the window and keep a smaller one on the seat, and the room stays balanced. Herringbone parquet and warm wood pick up the ochre and rust. At Selected Wallpapers you can browse the Elitis Brera fabric range and plan a curtain and a chair together.
