Mind the Gap wallpaper turns a wall into something to read rather than something to paint over. The Romanian studio, founded by Ștefan Ormenișan and Victor Șerban, works from the multicultural heritage of Transylvania: mythical figures, folkloric motifs and antique botanical drawings in compositions dense with detail. Buying it from the US raises questions a local showroom never has to answer.

Where Mind the Gap wallpaper works in an American home

Open-plan main floors seldom leave one long uninterrupted wall, so the smaller enclosed rooms are where to start. A powder room, an entryway, the wall beside a stair landing: you read those from a few feet away. In a bedroom, papering the headboard wall alone keeps the rest of the room quiet.

Sets instead of rolls: sizing for US walls

European wallpaper is not sold in single and double rolls. The collection arrives as a set of three panels, each 20.5 in (52 cm) wide by 9 ft 10 in (300 cm) long; hung side by side they cover 61.4 in (156 cm), roughly 50 sq ft (4.7 m²) per set. That length clears a standard 8- or 9-foot (2.4–2.7 m) ceiling in one drop, so no horizontal seam sits at eye level. The print repeats, so one wall or a whole room both work. Many designs carry a large repeat offset, so order one set above the bare minimum.

Hanging these panels on drywall

Every design is printed with environmentally friendly inks on a high-quality non-woven backing, leaving a matte surface with a faint tooth. Non-woven is a paste-the-wall material: the paste is rolled onto the wall and the dry panel is set against it. On smooth primed drywall the job stays manageable. Some designs also come in a sturdier, moisture-resistant version; each product page says which version applies.

Collections carried at Selected Wallpapers

The range reaches well past the Transylvanian folklore the studio is known for. Collections in stock include Sundance Villa, The Chinese Garden, Orient Express and Tales of Maghreb, alongside Woodstock Lifestyle, Wallpaper Collectables and the Minnie Kemp collaboration. The house also makes textiles, lighting and wall art, so a cushion from the same studio can echo the drawing on the wall.

Ordering from Europe

Order samples before you commit. A screen tells you little about how a print reads on your own wall in evening light. Orders to the United States ship with import duties and taxes settled in advance, so nothing is collected on delivery. Unsure how many sets your wall needs? Call or email us.

Frequently asked questions

FAQ about Mind the Gap Wallpaper
How is Mind the Gap wallpaper delivered?
Most Mind The Gap wallpapers come in sets of 3 strips, each 52 cm wide and 300 cm high. Together they form a decor of 156 × 300 cm, which can be repeated endlessly. The strips fit together seamlessly. This makes the wallpaper easy to install and particularly suitable for feature walls or complete room decoration. Do you need higher panels? That is possible, up to 450 cm high.
What material is the wallpaper made of?
Mind the Gap wallpaper is available as non-woven wallpaper and vinyl wallpaper. Non-woven wallpaper has a matte, slightly textured feel and is easy to hang using the paste-the-wall method. Vinyl wallpaper is more durable and moisture-resistant — suitable for high-traffic spaces or humid environments. The material for each design is specified on the product page.
Can I find matching products?
Yes. Mind The Gap also offers textiles and cushions in the same style. Many wallpaper designs are part of a wider collection, which makes it possible to implement a complete interior theme — perfect for those who like a cohesive and distinctive whole.
In which interiors does Mind The Gap wallpaper fit?
With its wide range of themes, Mind The Gap fits into a variety of styles: from classic and vintage to bohemian, industrial or hotel chic. The designs work beautifully as a statement wall in the living room, bedroom, home office, hallway or even a creative hospitality space. Combine it with rich fabrics, antique furniture or art objects for a layered effect.
How many rolls do I need for a Mind the Gap feature wall?
Mind the Gap wallpaper is delivered in sets of 3 panels measuring 52 × 300 cm each, forming a panel of 156 × 300 cm. For an average-width feature wall, one set is usually sufficient. For a full room, calculate the number of panels needed based on the perimeter. Use our wallpaper calculator for a quick estimate.
