Mattias wallpaper Sandberg

Mattias wallpaper by Sandberg with lilies and acanthus

Mattias wallpaper brings together speckled lilies and large, curling acanthus leaves in one continuous pattern that flows across the entire wall. The motifs are drawn like an engraving, with fine hatching in dark brown lines, and filled in with flat color. Beneath them lies a dense layer of small leaves, tendrils and faint round flowers that gives the wall depth. Up close, you can read every stroke of the drawing. From a distance, you mainly see movement. This gives a flat wall character without the pattern shouting.

Colours of Mattias wallpaper: Forest Green and Wheat

In Forest Green, the lilies and leaves appear in grayish beige and taupe on a gray-green ground with dark green leaves. This creates a deep, calm wall that pairs well with oak, warm white on skirting boards and window frames, travertine or natural stone, and linen in sand or olive. Wheat is lighter: motifs in off-white and light gray over a background of blue-gray, grayish blue and beige with white flecks. Combine this colourway with limewash paint in dove gray, lightly stained wood, white marble and textiles in ice blue or oatmeal.

Where Sandberg wallpaper Mattias comes into its own

With its large lilies, Mattias works best on a wall you see in its entirety: behind the bed, in a hallway or all around a bathroom or toilet. Forest Green makes a study feel warm, while Wheat keeps a bedroom light. Torn between a repeating pattern and made-to-measure wallpaper? Mattias continues all the way around without beginning or end. You'll find more designs in the Sandberg wallpaper collection, and at Selected Wallpapers you can order Mattias in the colourway that suits your wall.
